- The Universidade Católica Portuguesa Sample Collection comprises a large amount of diverse samples including paintings and sculptures cross sections and fragments of wood, ceramics, stone, mortars, tiles, canvas fibres, textiles and paper. Parallelly we also have a large collection of painting and sculpture radiographs and wood samples.

Statement of Significance
- The samples were collected by technicians from the UCP’s Centre of Conservation and Restoration, master and doctorate students, and researchers from the Research Centre for the Science and Technology of the Arts since the early 2000’s. The archive is kept on a dedicated cabinet without a digitised catalogue, only professors and technicians have access to it. The importance of the archive is connected to its historic, scientific, educational and documental value.
